DREST gears up for innovation with the appointment of new co-CEO and CTO
Luxury fashion and lifestyle mobile game DREST has announced significant leadership changes as it prepares for an exciting phase of development and expansion.
Daniel Svärd, formerly the general manager of Candy Crush Soda Saga, has been appointed as the new co-chief executive officer beside Lucy Yeomans. This comes ahead of the October 2024 release of an advanced version of DREST, which promises to elevate player engagement with the luxury fashion and lifestyle worlds to a new level. The game is set to introduce real-time narrative quests, live in-game special events, and exclusive branded virtual journeys, solidifying DREST's position in the fashion gaming arena.
Svärd brings a wealth of experience from over two decades in the gaming industry to DREST. His previous roles have included senior positions at companies like Betfair and Bwin, where he demonstrated strong leadership, business strategy, and technological expertise. Lucy Yeomans expressed her excitement about Svärd joining the team: "Over the past couple of months, we met with extraordinary candidates from all around the world but Daniel’s unique leadership qualities and expertise stood out. His gaming experience, motivational skills, and strong belief in and passion for the DREST vision made him the perfect candidate."
Coinciding with Svärd's appointment, Chris Wright has stepped in as the new interim chief technology officer, succeeding Martin Robaszewski. Having nearly 30 years in the technology and gaming sectors, Wright's expertise will guide DREST through its next stages, especially with the upcoming launch of the revamped game.
The innovation doesn't stop at leadership changes. DREST's forthcoming version aims to transcend traditional gaming experiences by offering players unique interactions with luxury brands, participation in real-life events, and opportunities for content co-creation. Commenting on the future of DREST, Svärd said, "There is a clear market opportunity for DREST, and with more exciting new functionalities and additional proprietary technology coming later this year, the game will further cement its unique positioning of opening up the exclusive worlds of luxury fashion to everyone, everywhere."
This development phase follows last year's £15 million funding round, underscoring the company's growth trajectory and commitment to revolutionizing the fashion gaming space.
