The firm released its 2025 Asset Allocation Review on Tuesday, showing no changes to its current positioning across both portfolio ranges.

State Street said it viewed the global economic outlook as remaining broadly consistent despite short-term market volatility driven by uncertainty around US trade policy.

The asset manager said it did not see material impacts to its long-term view despite recent market fluctuations.

State Street remains cautiously optimistic about the near-term outlook, supported by expectations of a gradual rate-cutting cycle.

From an asset class perspective, the firm continues to believe fixed income is attractively positioned to perform as the rate cutting cycle progresses.

The decision to hold current allocations contrasts with other major market participants who have made adjustments to their model portfolio weightings in recent months.

Asset allocation is widely recognised as the primary factor influencing overall portfolio returns, with strategic asset allocation explaining 90 per cent of variance in returns according to industry research.

State Street's model portfolios are designed to provide investors and advisers with professionally managed allocation strategies across different risk profiles and income objectives.

The firm said its analysis considers both near-term and long-term market outlooks, including potential impacts from rising global debt levels and increasing geopolitical tensions.

State Street Investment Management, formerly known as State Street Global Advisors, manages approximately $4.67 trillion in assets globally and is the world's fourth-largest asset manager.
