North expands managed portfolio options with new customisation features
North, a leading Australian wrap investment platform, has announced an expansion of its customisation options for managed portfolios, aiming to provide advisers with greater flexibility for their clients' investments.

The new functionality allows advisers to create more tailored solutions by customising underlying holdings to match specific client objectives or needs. This development also enables North to offer tailored solutions to advice practices with smaller balances.
Edwina Maloney, AMP Group Executive, Platforms, said: "We recognise that advice practices with smaller balances have not traditionally been able to access bespoke managed portfolio solutions and we wanted to solve for this under-served segment of the market."
North's professionally managed portfolio range has seen significant growth, with a 50% increase in advisers using MyNorth Managed Portfolios over the last two years.
The platform has introduced several enhancements to North Online to support the new features, including options to nominate asset exclusions and substitutions within managed portfolios.

Additionally, North has appointed Mercer as the Investment Manager for the APS CoreSeries Managed Portfolio range, replacing Morgan Stanley Wealth Management. This change is expected to result in lower investment manager fees, with an estimated decrease of at least 0.08% per annum for clients.
Maloney added: "By investing in innovative platform functionality and flexibility, we're helping deliver portfolio customisation at scale, empowering more advisers with our market-leading managed portfolio solutions and an exceptional platform that's easy to use."
The platform's new features aim to serve a larger number of clients who want to benefit from managed portfolios but were previously limited by their individual circumstances.
These developments come as North continues to focus on providing a frictionless experience for advisers and expanding its services to independent financial planners.
