Mason Stevens appoints former Morgan Stanley executive as chief strategy officer
Wealth management platform Mason Stevens has appointed Peter Mermelas as chief strategy officer to lead the company's expansion into the ultra-high-net-worth segment.

Mermelas joins from Morgan Stanley, where he served as head of family office, bringing 25 years of experience in equity and fund derivatives, retirement solutions and investment strategies for ultra-high-net-worth clients.
The appointment follows Adamantem Capital's recent acquisition of Mason Stevens, marking a new chapter for the business under private equity ownership.
Mermelas will focus on identifying and accelerating growth opportunities, particularly developing relationships with Australia's growing number of family offices and their advisers.
"I'm thrilled to be joining Mason Stevens at such an exciting time in the company's history," he said.

"I have been impressed by their journey so far and believe there are plenty of opportunities to expand into new segments."
He highlighted the platform's investment capabilities as key to serving ultra-high-net-worth clients.
"I firmly believe they have the right combination of sophisticated investment offerings and knowledge to provide UHNW clients and their advisers with expert solutions," he said.
Mason Stevens chief executive Tim Yule welcomed the appointment as part of the company's commitment to hiring exceptional talent.
"Peter brings extensive experience in the financial services sector and a strong dedication to ensuring clients access the right investment solutions to reach their objectives," he said.
The integrated wealth management platform offers advanced investment solutions to financial advisers, enabling portfolio growth strategies for their clients.
Founded in 2010, Mason Stevens has experienced strong growth and now manages approximately $8 billion in funds under administration.
The company employs more than 80 staff nationally with offices in Sydney and Melbourne.
Mermelas previously held senior roles at UBS for over eight years, as well as positions at Merrill Lynch, Westpac Institutional Bank and Commonwealth Bank.
His career includes roles as investor educator and media presenter, appearing on Channel 10 News, ABC's Business Breakfast, Sky News and CNBC to provide market and economic insights.
He brings expertise across debt capital markets, derivatives solutions, family office services, structured products, specialist lending and acquisition strategies.
Mermelas holds ASX accreditation as a derivatives adviser and a diploma in financial planning.
Mason Stevens positions itself as more than an administration platform, combining technology with investment specialist support to deliver sophisticated investment solutions.
The company focuses on investor portfolio outcomes and forming partnerships with clients to unlock growth opportunities for wealth practices.
