$750 payments start today
From today, around 6.5 million Australians are set to see a cash bonus in their bank account.
The payment was first announced in Prime Minister Scott Morrison’s first stimulus package.
Around 2.4 million pensioners will receive the payment, which will be provided to all Australians on the Age Pension.
Other groups that are eligible include: persons on Newstart, the disability support pension, carers’ allowance, youth allowance, veterans’ affairs payments and the family tax benefit.
Individuals holding a pensioner concession card, commonwealth senior health card or veteran gold card are also included.
People who receive any of the above payments or hold eligible cards are set to receive the cash automatically – they won’t need to do anything.
